Introduction: The Great Gatsby

In our annotated bibliography, we discuss how the narrative techniques of The Great Gatsby are used and how we can understand what Fitzgerald was trying to create. Fitzgerald created the Nick to be judgmental and for us to question his reliability throughout the story, which we as readers do. We ask the question of how Nick's shifts in narrative effect the reader to understand The Great Gatsby in an ethically thought out way. We know that Nick narrates the story in first person, but we see that the narration does shift to third person and this is the big question of why he does this. In our bibliography, we have read different analyzed different publications on the story. We have broken down these publications to help better understand Nick and the narration in the story.
